North Macomb Sportsmen’s Club Hosts Cops ’n Clays to Benefit First Responders

The North Macomb Sportsmen’s Club recently hosted its annual Cops ’n Clays fundraiser, drawing shooters and supporters together to benefit The Thin Blue Line of Michigan, a nonprofit dedicated to helping first responders and their families in times of need.

Supporting Those Who Serve

The Thin Blue Line of Michigan provides critical assistance to law enforcement officers, firefighters, dispatchers, corrections officers, EMTs, and their families. Support ranges from financial and legal aid to covering medical expenses, counseling, and even funeral and college stipends for families of the fallen. To date, the organization has served more than 800 families, according to Executive Director Kelly Pigeon.

Events like Cops ’n Clays are essential to sustaining this mission. “Fundraising events like the annual Cops ’n Clays at North Macomb Sportsmen’s Club are essential to ensuring that we are able to continue our mission,” Pigeon noted, expressing gratitude to all who participated.

Competition and Camaraderie

The day featured multiple teams competing in shotgun sports, including skeet, trap, wobble trap, and five-stand shooting, with trophies awarded to top performers. Participants also enjoyed a community atmosphere with breakfast, lunch, prize drawings, and an awards dinner rounding out the event.

A Tradition of Giving Back

The Cops ’n Clays event highlights the strong partnership between the shooting sports community and first responders. By combining friendly competition with a meaningful cause, the event not only raised funds but also reinforced a spirit of appreciation for those who dedicate their lives to public safety.
